Union Evens Conference Record with 1-0 Win at Trevecca

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 9/23/2004 - The Union University Bulldogs topped Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) 1-0 in Nashville, Tennessee. With the win, Union evens their conference record at 1-1 and ups their overall record to 4-4-1. Trevecca falls to 0-7 overall and 0-1 in league play.

Gareth Munro scored the game's only goal in the 75th minute for his third game-winning goal of the season and fourth goal overall. Munro leads Union with 10 total points. Freshman, Bobby McCall tallied the assist.

Munro has missed the past three games for Union due to an injury and played just 10 minutes in this game. With a scoreless game and just 20 minutes remaining, Caoch White turned to Munro and said, "Let's go Gareth". And go he did as he tallied the game winning goal. After he scored, Munro was immediately pulled for fear of reagrevating the injury.

Trevecca goalie, Seth Miller record 10 saves in the game. Union's Robert Stinson recorded the shutout for Union, the Bulldogs's first of the season.

Up next for Union will be a home non-conference matchup with Bethel College of McKenzie, Tenn. Gametime is slated for 7:00 pm on Monday, September 27.
