CLIFTON, Tenn. - 10/27/2004 - The Union University men’s golf team posted their best score of the fall to earn a first place finished in the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational hosted by Freed-Hardeman University. Union first team scored a two-day total of 621 to place first, while Union’s second team shot 683 to place fifth in the same tournament.
Milan, Tennessee native Cole Floyd won the individual with a two-day score of 146. Joining Floyd on the All-Tournament team was former Trinity Christian Standout Luke Yandell. Yandell finished fourth in the tournament with a score of 153. Brenton Berlin (159), Matt Wood (163), and Mickey Armstrong (167) finished 10th, 14th, and 21st respectively. Each of the five golfers on Union’s first team are freshmen.
Union’s second team scored a fifth place finish in the event. Gary Glapa shot 161, Drew Cannon socred a 167, Chase Whitby tallied a 173, and Nathan Morris scored 182.
