OLATHE, Kan. - 1/25/2005 - The Union University Lady Bulldogs dropped just one spot to No. 2 in this week's NAIA National Rankings. The Bulldogs received votes at the No. 26 spot.
Union sufferred their first loss of the season versus No. 19 Trevecca Nazarene University to snap their NAIA best 17-game winning streak to start the season. Vanguard University (Calif.) (18-1)received 11 of the 12 first place votes to moved ahead of the Lady Bulldogs. Union received the other first place vote. Earlier this season, Union defeated No. 1 Vanguard, No 3 Houston Baptist, No. 5 Oklahoma City, and No. 14 North Georgia twice.
The Bulldogs lost two games on the week to fall to 12-6 on the year. One of Union's losses was to No.6 Trevecca Nazarene University, who moved up two spots from last week.
