JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/28/2005 - Union University volleyball has signed Jackson native and Trinity Christian Academy standout Amanda Hutchison. Hutchison is currently a senior at TCA and will join Union this fall as a freshman.

Hutchison, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, has been a two-sport athlete at TCA including volleyball under Coach Keith Hutchison and tennis under Coach James Parker. In volleyball, she was named All-Tournament and All-District in 2002, followed by All-Tournament and All-District honors again in 2003. The 2004 season was Hutchison’s standout year as she was named the District Player of the Year, Region MVP, District MVP, and All-District. She was also named the Jackson Sun’s Player of the Year in 2004. Hutchison holds four Tennessee State volleyball records including kills in game, kills in a match, kills in a season, and kills in a career.
