Jackson, Tenn. - 2/5/2002 - Union University senior Robert Joseph was named the TranSouth Conference Player of the Week for in consecutive weeks and for the third time this season. Joseph helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week and remain at the top of the conference standings with a 22-3 overall record and a 6-1 mark in league play.

Joseph, a 6-7 forward from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, tallied 43 points, 20 rebounds, eight blocks, three steals, and two assists during the week. He shot 81.3% from the field (13-16) and 60.7 from the free throw line (17-28). Joseph is currently leading the conference in scoring at 22.3 points per game and rebounding with a 9.67 average. His 63% from the field for the year is good for third in the conference.

Also reachable for Joseph this season is the all-divisions record for blocks in a season of 207 held by David Robinson. This includes all NCAA and NAIA divisions. Joseph is only 38 way from that mark with seven regular season games remaining plus any post season games the Bulldogs play.
