Union’s Ogolla Named TranSouth Conference Setter of the Week

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/19/2005 - Purity Ogolla was named the TranSouth Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week ending September 18. Ogolla, a junior for the Union University Lady Bulldogs, hails from Nairobi, Kenya.

Ogolla, a 5-foot-9 setter, helped lead Union to a 3-2 record on the week. She averaged 11.35 assists per game, and had a kill percentage of .350 for the Lady Bulldogs. On the season, Ogolla leads Union with 405 assists and she ranks third on the team with 25 service aces and second on the team with 43 blocks. Ogolla leads the TranSouth Conference and ranks third in the NAIA with 10.3 assists per game.

Up next for Union, now 6-4 on the season, will be a road match at Williams Baptist College (Ark.) on Tuesday, September 20 at 6:00 pm. Then Union will play their first home match of the season as they host TranSouth Conference foe Cumberland University (Tenn.) on Thursday, September 22 at 7:00 pm.
