Jackson Native Named TranSouth Volleyball Freshman of the Year
Four Named All-Conference

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/10/2005 -

PULASKI, Tenn. – The 2005 TranSouth All-Conference volleyball teams were announced Thursday as a part of the TranSouth volleyball tournament at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee. The first team consisted of twelve players, and the second team of six. Also named were TranSouth Player, Newcomer, Freshman, and Coach of the year awards.

Taking Player of the year honors was Renata Pedreria of Freed-Hardeman University. Pedreria led the TranSouth in kills per game (5.4) in helping her team to a second place finish in the conference. Amanda Hutchison of Union University – the TranSouth leader in blocks per game (1.4) – was named TranSouth Freshman of the year, while LaKenya Wrightsil and Rose Majors-Powell of the TranSouth champion Martin Methodist College RedHawks were named Newcomer and Coach of the year respectively.
