JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/13/2006 - In the first TranSouth Weekly report for the 2006 softball season, the Playerof the Week honors go to Union University’s Holly Haycraft. This award is for the week ending March 12, 2006. Haycraft, a 5-foot-6 senior center fielder from Dyersburg, Tennessee, hit .611 (11-18) on the week as she recorded multiple hits in five of her six games played. Haycraft help lead Union to a perfect 6-0 week. She tallied four runs, four doubles, eight RBI, and two walks. Haycraft stole 4-of-4 bases on the week. She posted a .833 slugging percentage.
Union, ranked No. 15 in the NAIA preseason polls, is currently 13-3 on the season and are winners of six games in a row.
