California Junior College Transfer Signs with Union Volleyball

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/18/2007 - The Union University volleyball team has signed Emilie Ogas of Porterville, California. Ogas will join Union this fall as a junior and will continue her studies to become an elementary school teacher.

Ogas, a 6-foot right side hitter, is a transfer from Porterville Community College in California. While there, Ogas played two seasons of volleyball. She was named the Freshman of the Year and second team All-Conference in 2005. Ogas was also named first team All-Conference in 2006. She ranked in the Top-10 of the California Community Colleges in kills as a sophomore over 500 in the season. Ogas prepped at Porterville High School were she played volleyball and softball. She helped lead her volleyball team to the East Yosemite League Titles in 2003 and 2004. Ogas was named league MVP as a senior, along with being a first team All-County and first team All-Valley. Off the court, Ogas was the senior class secretary.
