JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/20/2007 - Amber Lovelady, of Franklin, has signed with the Union University Lady Bulldog soccer team. Lovelady will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will be majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy.
“Amber is a solid defender who is well organized and a vocal leader in the defensive third”, states Union head coach Brandon Boylan. “We are pleased she has decided to be apart of our program.”
Lovelady, a 5-foot-7 defender, prepped at Brentwood Academy where she played soccer, basketball, and ran track. As a sophomore, she was named All-District. Lovelady was named All-State and a National Christian School All-American. Lovelady also gain career honors including TSSAA State basketball and soccer state qualifying team, along with being named All-Williamson County. Of the field, Lovelady was just as successful. She earned the US Achievement Academy National Physical Education Award, Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, and was named to the Headmaster's List in all four years.
The Union women’s soccer program is coming off their second season of varsity competition. Last season, Union advanced to the first NAIA Region XI Tournament.
