Union Baseball Signs Jackson State Player

JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/15/2007 - Danny Alberty, who spent the last two seasons pitching for the Generals at Jackson State Community College, has signed to continue his college baseball with the Union University Bulldogs. Alberty will enter Union this fall as a junior.

Alberty, a 6-foot-2 right-hander from Miami, Florida, went 3-4 as a sophomore with 29 strikeouts.

Jackson State Head Coach Steve Cornelison states, “Union will be a perfect fit for Danny and I know that he will be successful as a Bulldog. His record doesn’t indicate how good he was assigned to pitch against some of the best baseball players in the country last season.”

Alberty prepped at Miami Sunset High School.

“Danny has a good fastball with movement,” adds Union Head Coach Brent Fronabarger. “He has a lot of toughness about him and will give us depth and experience in a young rotation. We are excited to sign Danny and look for him to be very successful at Union over the next two years.”
