JACKSON, Tenn. - 7/30/2007 - The Union University Bulldog baseball program has added an impact recruit with the signing of Andrew Hansen. Hansen will join Union this fall as a sophomore and will have three years of eligibility remaining after transferring from Iowa Central Community College.

Hansen, a 6-foot 175 lb. middle infielder, earned numerous honors last season as a freshman at Iowa Central. He was named first team All-Region, first team All-District, and second team All-American. Hansen hit .370 with 50 runs, 69 hits, four homeruns, 40 RBI and a .457 on-base-percentage during this past spring of 2007. Hansen prepped at Lakeville High School in Lakeville, Minn. where he played three seasons of baseball. He was named All-Conference as a junior and senior. Hansen added first team All-State, and MVP of the East West All-Star game as a senior.

Union head coach Brent Fronabarger states, “Andrew is a very talented player and will come in a play immediately for the Bulldogs. He is great both offensively and defensively.”
