Union Reserve Team Continues Solid Season

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/19/2007 - The Union University men's Soccer reserve team continued a strong season Monday night with a 3-0 win versus the Tennessee Rush 92 from Jackson. Union dressed out only 12 players for the match, yet did not appear to struggle in the 90 minute match. The Union men's reserve team improved to 3-2 on the season.

Jordan Thompson opened the scoring for Union in the second minute of the match, Thompson scored on a shot from 10 yards out. The goal was assisted by David Romer. Union tallied their second goal when an Eric Uruwingiyamana corner kick found the head of defender Kevin Bradley for a second goal of the half.

The second half was mostly Union displaying ball control until a 10-minute delay caused by the sprinkler system halted the action. When the match resumed, Union tacked on a third and final goal when David Romer drilled home a deflected shot in the 83rd minute.
