Before Union: Stafford prepped at Montgomery Central High School where he played four years of soccer. He helped lead his team to a runner-up finish in the district as a junior and a region semi-final finish as a senior. He was named Best Offensive player three times, Team MVP twice, All-District, and District Offensive Player of the Year. Stafford tallied 27 goals in both his junior and senior years. Off the field, Stafford was a member of the National Honors Society and was named a Scholar Athlete.
