Hobbies: write poetry, referee soccer, hang out with friends
Before Union: Gilbert prepped at Davidson Academy where she was a three-sport athlete. In addition to four years of soccer, she played two seasons on the basketball team and ran track for a season. In soccer, Gilbert helped her team to the 2008 Region and Sub-State Titles, as well as, a region runner-up in 2007. She was helped her basketball team to a Division II Small School State Championship. Gilbert's soccer honors are numerous. She was named All-State, All-Region, Team MVP, Most Outstanding Player, and Team Caption as a senior. As a junior, Gilbert earned a spot on the Tennessee Sports Writers All-State team, All-Region, Team MVP, and Team Captain. Gilbert set school records for most goals scored in a game (6), and was the school's all-time assists leader. Off the field, Gilbert was a member of FCA and Mu Alpha Theta.
