Before Union: Giddens prepped at University School of Jackson where she played basketball for four years. As a sophomore, she earned the Coach's Award and was second on the team in three pointers made and steals. Giddens earned the Bruin Award and led the team in three-point percentage as a junior. As a senior, she was a co-captain and led the team in three-point percentage and charges. Off the court, Giddens was a member of the the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Key Club and SADD. She was also selected to represent Tennessee in the USBA Tournament in Columbus, Ohio.
Aly comes to us as a walk-on from USJ here in Jackson. She has been around our program since she was little and she fits into the system well. She is a great person and is intelligent. Aly gives her best everyday and will be a great teammate. She is a good three point shooter and as the year goes on will get even better. She comes to us with an attribute most freshmen do not have and that is strength. I am excited about having Aly as a part of our program at Union. She is the type of person that we want here.
