Following his junior year, he was named MVP, all-region, all-district, and led the team in goals and assists. As a sophomore, Castro was named All-State, MVP, all-district team, and was the top scorer in west Tennessee. He was named MVP and led the team in goals as a freshman. Castro played club soccer for the Jackson Wolves in 2006, leading his team to their tournament championship.
