Before Union: Massie prepped at Dyer County (Tenn.) High School where he played four seasons of baseball. Massie helped lead his team to the 2009 Tennessee State Title as a sophomore. He was named Best Defensive Player three times, all-district twice, and all-tournament team twice. Massie has a career batting average of .333 in high school.
