Derrick transferred to Union from Bevill State Community College last season…made an immediate impact last year averaging 10.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game…he will bring great strength and athleticism to the Bulldogs…at Bevill State, he averaged 12 points and 8 rebounds per game…he shot 62% from the field and 72% from the free throw line…he graduated from Boaz High School in 1999 and signed with the University of Alabama-Birmingham…Derrick was a three-time high school first team All-State performer…he was a USA Today High School honorable mentioned All-American.
