2009-10 Bulldog Basketball Player Profile

#21 Daniel Kelley
FR, 6-3, 190
Hometown: Nashville, Tenn.
Previous School: Nashville Central Christian

I am very excited about the next four years for Daniel Kelley. Daniel has one of the quickest shots of just about anybody that I have coached. He worked extremely hard in high school to prepare himself to be a college basketball player. He is mature physically for a freshman, but more importantly than that, he is a mature young man that will be successful both on and off the court here. Daniel is studying to be a doctor at Union and that carries over to his intelligence on the floor. As he adjusts to the pace of college basketball, we expect big things ahead in Daniel’s future.

Before Union: Kelley comes to Union after playing four seasons of basketball for Nashville Central Christian where he averaged 14.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He also played four years of soccer during high school. Kelley was named Co-Captain in both his junior and senior seasons, while also being named All-American and selected as an All-Star. He was named All-Tournament on four occasions including MVP of the Chick-Fil-A Classic. In his four years, Kelley scored 1,488 points, grabbed 517 rebounds and recorded 309 assists. In his career, he shot 52 percent from the field, 40 percent from behind the arc and 74 percent from the free throw line. Off the court, Kelley earned the Presidential Scholarship at Union University. He is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, was named Outstanding Senior and was vice president of the Latin Club. Kelley is the son of Tim and Melissa Kelley.
