Kristen has worked extremely hard to get back on the field after missing half of the 2008 season due to an injury. She is excellence driven and has the skill to be successful. Kristen is very strong and will add power to the line up. In addition, she has a strong arm and will surprise runners looking for that extra base.

Before Union: Kirk has played numerous positions during her high school career at Bolivar Central High School, including time as a shortstop, an outfielder, and also as a pitcher. She started all four season of her high school career under head coach Mike Madden. As a senior, Kirk hit .424 with 27 RBI, and also compiled a 7-6 record on the mound with one save. She posted a 2.24 ERA while striking out 100 batters in 71.2 innings pitched. She is a career .384 hitters and has 91 RBI, 19 wins, and 302 strikeouts during her four years at Bolivar Central. Kirk was named All-District 12-AA as a senior. She was also named the Gatorade Player of the Year, District All-Tournament, All-District, Jackson Sun All-West Tennessee, and a High School Christian Student Athlete second team All-American during her junior season.
Off the field, Kirk was just as successful and posted just as many honors. She was named a Girl’s State Delegate as a junior, and then Rotary Student of the Month, Most Studious, Most Likely to Succeed, and was named to the Bolivar Central High School Wall of Fame as a senior. In her four years of high school, Kirk earned eight subject awards and was on the Honor Roll each year. Kirk was also a member of numerous clubs, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, BETA Club president, Yearbook Editor, Spanish Club, and Cheerleading Captain.
