Before Union: Kirk prepped at Bolivar Central High School where she played four seasons of softball. She also played for the West Tennessee All-Stars, leading her team to the USSSA Tennessee State Title in 2007. Kirk was named All-West Tennessee and All-District as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. As a junior, Kirk hit .431 with six homeruns. She also posted a 0.83 ERA on the mound, with 142 strikeouts and just eight walks in 82 innings pitched. Off the field, Kirk was a Girl's State Delegate, Miss BCHS, BCHS Wall of Fame, and selected most studious. She was a member of the honor roll, FCA, Beta Club, and won seven subject awards.
