Drs. Atkins and Newman Explore Bloom's Taxonomy

Michele W. Atkins, Ph.D., Chair, Institutional Review Board & Professor of Education

April 17, 2007 - Drs. Kenneth Newman & Michele Atkins presented at the Making An Impact Conference at Kennesaw State in Atlanta, Georgia. Their session was entitled "Beyond Comprehension: Assessment to Improve Teaching and Learning." This session explored Bloom's Taxonomy of Learning Domains revised by Anderson (2001). Workshop participants considered samples of actual student work (acquired through a cooperating area school system) and sorted those samples into levels of Taxonomy. In the literature, this process is referred to as "Looking at Student Work." (March 16-17, 2007)
