History Club Inducts New Members and Prepares for Upcoming Events
Oct 29, 2012 - The Rutledge Honorary History Club had an induction ceremony for six new members and discussed upcoming club events during its fall plenary meeting on October 29. Club President Mary Ellen Poe presided over both segments of the meeting. The new inductees included Colby Benefield, Heather Conway, Kenton Evans, Holly Owens, Luke Trammel, and Lowell Van Ness. During the business meeting, the club agreed to have its fall semester pizza party at Dr. Lindley’s home on November 29 and scheduled the history department awards banquet, which the club coordinates, for May 2, 2013. Finally, President Mary Ellen encouraged club members to participate in a Phi Alpha Theta/history department-sponsored community service project at Parker’s Crossroads Civil War Battlefield Park during Union’s “Campus and Community “ Day on November 6.
