The courses include 16, 30, 45, and 62 miles (metric century) that roll through the scenic Tennessee countryside (click links above to view the routes). The routes are flat to small rolling hills and are subject to very little traffic. SAG stops with food and beverages are posted approximately every 15 miles on the course. A .75 mile children’s campus ride will be offered which will begin at 8:30. Anyone completing the metric century will receive a commemorative t-shirt celebrating their milestone.
All routes will begin and end at the Bell Tower on the campus of Union University. The 16 and 30 mile routes are relatively flat, while there are some mild to moderate hills along the out and back extensions of the 45 and 62 mile routes. Enjoy the speed of the flats on the 62 mile route as it carries you via Roberts Station road to turnabout near Century Farms. All routes converge in downtown Gadsden so most of the riders will follow similar course patterns where there is lots of opportunity to ride with your peers. All routes are scenic, well paved, lightly traveled, and rate from easy to moderate in terms of elevation gain.
SAG stations will be positioned throughout the route where you can recharge with electrolyte drinks, fruit, snacks and a place to rest. In the
instance that you are too tired to ride on, just say the word and one of our support teams will pick up you and your bike and deliver you back to the
university safely. Assistance with bicycle repairs will also be a phone call away. Please be mindful to carry your cellphone on the ride to have access to these amenities.
Registration is $20.00 for pre-registration and $25.00 the day of the event. Children registration is $5.00.
T-shirts will be awarded to all participants that register by April 15. Special event cycling jerseys will also be available as purchased in pre-registration. All proceeds will benefit the students of athletic training education at Union University.
