MOX

Overview

MOX is a mobile-device application (app) that provides free and convenient access to University information and services. Download the app below and learn about the current list of MOX resources.

MOX is a tool for MObile aXcess (access). Students, employees, prospective students/parents, alumni and friends can download and install the app to view public information about Union. MOX is one component of Union's support of mobility.

We chose the DubMeNow.com app for three primary reasons. First, it is integrated with other Union systems, providing access to several sources of University information. Second, it is immediately available for multiple kinds of mobile devices. Third, it is widely used, having been adopted by hundreds of other schools.

You can search your app store for MOX or use the appropriate link from this list.

After you download and install MOX, open the app, scroll to the bottom of university list (or use MOX's Search box) and then select Union University. This is a one-time setup.

MOX resources and how to use them

You will have immediate access to the resources listed here. Tap any MOX icon to access that resource; to return to the app's previous screen (for example, the MOX main menu), use the icon at the left end of the app's title bar.

Maps - Get a map to any Union University building at any of our campuses. For each building, you will see its picture, building type (academic, administrative, etc.), address, name, campus location and directions. Directions from your current location are provided using your device's native map app. There are two ways to find a building.

  1. Use the Maps 'Search buildings' feature to search by name. After searching, tap the name of the building to see its information.
  2. To choose a campus, use the building icon at the bottom right of the Maps screen. (On Android devices, use the app's three-dot icon, then Campus Selector.) Once you choose a campus, use the buildings-list icon at the top right of the screen. (On Android devices, use the app's three-dot icon, then List.) Buildings are grouped by type. Tap on any group heading (e.g., Academic Buildings) to view its list of buildings. Tap the name of the building to see its information.

Important #'s - Browse the full list of widely used offices/services for any of our campuses. (Germantown, Hendersonville and Olford campuses are grouped with Gtown, Hville and Olford prefixes, respectively.) You can also use the 'Search by name' feature to find the information you need. Tap a phone number to dial it or tap an email address to use your device's native email app.

News - The latest University news stories are grouped as UU News and UU Athletics News. Tap the group header to hide/show that group. Tap any story to read its first few lines; to read the full story, use the arrow icon at the top right of the screen.

Events - Near-term University events are grouped as UU Events and UU Athletics Events. Tap the group header to hide/show that group. Tap any event to read its details. Email the event to yourself/others or add the event to your calendar.

Info - View the main address and website for Union, as well as technical-support contacts.

Friends, My Card - Share your contact information with others using the MOX app.

More features will be added in the future. This will include services and content targeted to the individual student/employee, which will require a university login for access. Public information described above will still be accessible to people who do not have a login.
