The Union University libraries will be using OCLC's
WorldShare Web-scale Management System. WorldShare manages the library catalog, library acquisitions, library subscriptions and much more.

WorldShare stands apart from traditional online library catalog systems by offering member libraries one
unified solution to help streamline routine tasks like acquisitions, circulation, vendor, budget and licensed resource management. By moving these functions to the Web, libraries are able to share infrastructure costs and resources, as well as collaborate in ways that free them from the restrictions of local hardware and software.

At the heart of the WorldShare system is WorldCat — the largest catalog of bibliographic data and library materials in the world. With more than 230 million records
and 1.7 billion holdings, WorldCat’s foundation is built and maintained on the strength of participation by libraries just like yours. As a result, the information
you need to identify and select materials is all in the same unified system used to acquire and manage them.
WorldCat Local’s single search connects users to all of Union University's library materials (physical, electronic and digital) and the delivery services that get them what they need.
• Discovery and delivery coordinates with patron management.
• Smart delivery gives users the best choice for accessing items.
• Integration with search engines and social networking services.
• Places library content and metadata in the mainstream.
WorldShare enables Union University's library to manage its entire collection management life cycle,
from cataloging and acquisitions to circulation and
patron management, all through one system.
