Effective July 1st, Anna Poore will begin serving as the Technical Services Librarian for Union University libraries. Anna has completed a bachelor's degree in Psychlogy with a minor in Information Technology. She has also finished a master's degree in Library and Information Science. Both of Anna's degrees were earned from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Anna is currently working on a second master's degree in Intercultural Studies at Union University. As the Technical Services Librarian, Anna will be promoted to a faculty position and have the rank of Assistant Professor. In addition to Anna's primary responsibilities in Technical Services, she also helps staff the Jackson library's service desk several hours each week and serves as one of three Research Coaches. Anna is married to Dr. Geoffrey Poore, Assistant Professor of Physics at Union. Congratulations on your new position, Anna!
During the past three years, Anna Poore has served as the Union University's Cataloging Associate, working with Mary Platt. At the end of July, after 22 years of service, Mary Platt, the libraries' Authority/Cataloging Librarian, will retire from Union University. Mary has plans to volunteer more for her church and visit family frequently. Congratulations, Mary, on your retirement!
