JACKSON, Tenn. – April 13, 2006 – The men’s soccer team of Union University will sponsor a benefit show April 25 to raise money for a local youth soccer team.
Proceeds from “A Night of Song and Dance with Union Soccer and Friends” will go to the travel costs for the Jackson Wolves 95, a team of boys ages 9-11 that has qualified for the national tournament in Orlando, Fla.
“There’s never been a boys’ or girls’ soccer team in Jackson that has made it to the national tournament,” said Chris Lean, a member of the Union soccer team and coach of the Jackson Wolves 95. “This is a huge deal for the Jackson Soccer Club.”
Lean said the Wolves are trying to raise $10,000 to help pay for the travel costs of players and their families.
In addition to the Union men’s soccer team, other performers at the show will include the men of Union’s Lambda Chi Alpha and Alpha Tau Omega chapters, the women of Union’s Chi Omega chapter, Cody Curtis, Leah Pruitt and Stephanie Clark.
The show will be held at 7 p.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel at Union University. Tickets are $5 for general admission or $3 for Union students.
