Union University Community Art Program offers winter classes for children and teens

JACKSON, Tenn.Jan. 8, 2001– The Community Art Program sponsored by Union University's Department of Art will offer winter and spring art classes for children and teens from preschool age through grades 9-12.

A six-week parent/child workshop on Mondays for children ages two to kindergarten and an accompanying adult will begin Monday, Jan. 29 from 10 to 11 a.m.

An eight-week painting class will be offered for students in grades 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12. Grades 1-4 will begin Monday, Jan. 29 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Grades 5-8 and 9-12 will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 30 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

A drawing class for grades 1-4 will begin on Thursday, Feb. 1 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Class size is limited to eight students per class and the deadline for registration is Monday, Jan. 22. Cost for the parent/child workshops and painting classes are $185, and drawing classes are $165. All materials are included. For more information, contact Debra Tayloe at (901) 661-5075.
