UU Ringers to perform May 1

JACKSON, Tenn.April 22, 2008 – The UU Ringers handbell choir, under the direction of Union music professor Dianne Gatwood, will present a recital May 1 at West Jackson Baptist Church.

Among the selections scheduled for performance are Gabriel Faure’s “In Paradisum,” which will be accompanied by freshman Anna Wicker on the harp, Johannes Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance No. 5” and Henry Purcell’s “Trumpet Tune.”

The recital will be the last for Gatwood to direct at Union. She is retiring at the end of the spring semester.

The recital will begin at 12:15 p.m. in the church choir room. It is free and open to the public.
