CIVA exhibit on display at Union beginning Oct. 22

JACKSON, Tenn.Oct. 14, 2008 – Union University’s art gallery will host a traveling exhibit from Christians in the Visual Arts Oct. 22-Nov. 26.

The exhibit is entitled “Highly Favored: Contemporary Images of the Virgin Mary” and will include 29 different works from various styles – including pen and ink, lithographs, acrylic on canvas, oil on canvas and collages, among others.

CIVA is a visual arts organization that seeks to connect artists with the church and the culture. Its membership includes artists, iconographers, graphic designers, liturgical designers, curators, theologians, art historians, collectors, museums, churches, colleges and seminaries.
