Union to host social work conference March 24

JACKSON, Tenn.March 18, 2010– Union University’s social work department and the National Association of Social Workers are co-sponsoring a conference March 24 to coincide with Social Work Awareness Day.

The conference, “Restoration and Justice in an Uncertain World,” will feature presenters addressing such topics as “In the Trenches: Restorative Practices for the Military,” “Rising Above the Brokenness: Seeing from the Whole” and “Avoiding Practice Pitfalls: Ethics and Technological Advances in Social Work.”

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the conference running from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center. The conference will give professionals in the community an opportunity to earn six continuing education units.
