Union edges Oklahoma City to move into Tuesday's NAIA title game

JACKSON, Tenn.March 22, 2010 – Kaitlin Dudley became Union’s all-time leading scorer as the Lady Bulldogs slipped past Oklahoma City 63-61 Monday night in the semifinals of the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship at Oman Arena in Jackson.

Union, 35-2 on the season, will Azusa Pacific in the title game Tuesday at 9 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs are looking for their fifth NAIA championship and their fourth in the past six years.

Dudley needed 15 points to surpass Sandra Fitzgerald, a 1979 Union graduate, as the Lady Bulldogs’ top scorer. She ended up with 21 points total, 16 in the second half, as Union came from a seven-point halftime deficit. Zeinab Chan led the Lady Bulldogs with 25 points and 11 rebounds.

Her performance gave Dudley a career total of 2,378 points.

A limited number of tickets for the championship game will be available at Union Station for Union students, faculty and staff at a discounted price of $5 each.

Tonight's game will be televised live on the CBS College Sports Network.
