Union University presents “Christmas Is…The Messiah”

JACKSON, Tenn.Nov. 21, 2001 – Union University’s communication arts, music and art departments will come together to present the fourth annual “Christmas Is…The Messiah,” Tuesday, Dec. 4 in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel.

Written and directed by Wayne Johnson, associate professor of communication arts, the presentation will feature performances by the Union University Players, the Symphonic Band and the Union University Chapel Choir.

Musical selections will feature the Christmas section of George Frederick Handel’s The Messiah.

The evening’s events will also include a nativity scene with audience participation in a Christmas carol sing-along.

“Christmas Is…The Messiah” will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. For more information, contact the Department of Communication Arts at (731) 661-5431.

Union University Announcement for March 6

Due to inclement weather, all Union campuses will be closed on Friday, March 6, with all classes canceled.

The wellness center will open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., and the aquatic center will be open from 1-3 p.m.

Friday's Preview Day has been canceled.

Brewer Dining Hall will be open from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lex will be closed. No breakfast will be served.
