JACKSON, Tenn. – April 11, 2014 – Rich Grimm, Union University’s senior vice president for enrollment services, has announced his resignation from Union to accept a position at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Ill.
Grimm will join Union President David S. Dockery, who will assume the Trinity presidency in June, as the institution’s senior vice president in the areas of enrollment, university services and strategic initiatives.
“Rich Grimm is a talented and multi-gifted leader, who has invested himself for a decade in the life of Union University,” Dockery said. “He is recognized across the world of Christian higher education as one of the truly outstanding enrollment officers because of the quality of his work at Union, Palm Beach Atlantic University and Criswell College.”
Dockery said Grimm has also distinguished himself through his leadership and service on key feasibility study teams, on building projects and in strategic planning processes.
“I know that the Union community will join me in offering thanks to God for the strategic leadership provided by Rich Grimm in key aspects of the life and work of this place,” Dockery said.
A graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University with a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Grimm will assume his new position at Trinity on July 1.
“It has been our privilege and honor to have been a part of the Union community these past 10 years,” Grimm said. “While leaving our friends and colleagues is difficult and bittersweet, we are excited about this fresh call on our lives. We are humbled by the invitation to join Dr. Dockery’s new administration at Trinity.”
Grimm added that he is “profoundly grateful for the opportunity that was ours to serve” at Union and that he is hopeful for the future of the university under the leadership of incoming president Samuel W. “Dub” Oliver. “May the Lord continue to bless the work of this great university for his glory,” Grimm said.
