Teaching various levels of education throughout his career, he first arrived at Union in 1971 but later left in 1977 to be a school principal in Missouri. In 1982 he returned to become what is now his current position at the university.

“He has been an inspiration to fellow colleagues and students, who see him as a friend and mentor,” Gary Williams, executive director of Alumni Services pointed out.
