JACKSON, Tenn. – Sept. 30, 2005 – A new stone sculpture exhibit by Shawn Morin will be on display in Union University’s Art Gallery Oct. 3-31.
“Although not every work that is produced by my hands addresses specific issues or themes … it can be said that the bulk of my work is biblical in nature,” Morin said. “Whether it is figurative or architectural, I like to think that it speaks the heart, the body, the soul and the mind.”
Morin is associate professor of art at Bowling Green State University, and his art has been shown in galleries throughout the United States. He said his work details the passion he has for both his art and his faith.
“My most recent work draws both its concept and form from the word of God and the Christian perspective,” Morin said.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays, and 1-4 p.m. on weekends. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
An artist reception and gallery talk will be held Oct. 3 at noon.
