JACKSON, Tenn.Feb. 13, 2006 – Union University junior Derek Carson was recently elected as chairman of the Council of Presidents for the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity during a meeting in New Braunfels, Texas.

Carson, a business major from New Boston, Texas, serves as president of the Union University chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha.

“I just look at it as another opportunity to serve,” Carson said. “It’s a really good opportunity to share some of my perspectives and beliefs about the way brotherhood ought to be.”

As chairman of the Council of Presidents, Carson will preside during his one-year term over all meetings where presidents of all local Lambda Chi Alpha chapters worldwide will meet for strategy planning and leadership development.

He will also have a seat on the Grand High Zeta, the governing board of Lambda Chi Alpha International.
