Boys & Girls Club - Volunteers Needed, Jackson, TN

Status: Part-Time
Compensation: Volunteer

Are you a caring, fun, motivated, and passionate individual? Do you love helping and serving those who need us most? Well if so, sign up to be a Boys & Girls Club of Jackson Volunteer!

The Boys & Girls Club of Jackson mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. We work to accomplish this mission through various after school programs in the areas of academics, character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. We strive to provide the very best opportunities and experiences for our deserving youth members. For this reason, we are seeking dedicated volunteers willing to devote time and/or resources in helping our Club and its members.

Examples of volunteer opportunities include mentoring and tutoring, leading craft projects and sports games, assisting with administrative and maintenance tasks, and many more! The possibilities are endless, and we are more than willing to work with you in incorporating your skills and passions as a volunteer. If you have an idea for volunteering - whether it's leading a workshop in your field of study, instructing Club members on a sport, or directing a Club theater production - we are all ears!

As a volunteer, you can choose to participate in a one-time event or you can volunteer on a continual basis. We will work with you and your time commitments. We have five total Club sites, four in Jackson and one in Brownsville. Youth members usually attend our Clubs after school between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 pm (depending on the Club site), but weekend and summer opportunities for volunteering are definitely possible.

Most of the youth we serve live in very disadvantaged circumstances, and oftentimes our Club is the most positive place in their lives. Your unique skills, talents, passions, and traits will truly open up and excite their worlds!

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Club at (731) 423- 0627, email Erin Buck at ebuck@bgcjmc.org, or visit our website at www.bgcjmc.org. Also, check us out on Facebook!
