Shelterwood is a christian therapeutic boarding school for at risk-teens located in Independence MO. Between 40-60 teens from across the country live in our program with live in staff. Most of our live-in staff are recent college grads from across the country who have a interest in ministering with the youth. Some of our best staffers we have found for our program have been RA's in Colleges. Our Program require a level of maturity and humility. Its a very challenging year of working many hours each week with the teens, Dealing with conflict, anger issues, opposition defiance, etc. Which teaches you patience, endurance, and humility. Our staff provide weekly training for the college grads. During the year, you receive a 1,000 a month stipend to help cover personal expenses, free room and board, and insurance benefits, along with ongoing training and encouragement throughout the year.
