Adult BSW

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree is offered at Union University in Jackson and, for adults in the Memphis area, at Union University Germantown.

A Bachelor of Social Work degree prepares you for a career in which you help others succeed in the face of adversity. In a context of Christ-centered higher education, the program fosters compassionate service, promotes social and economic justice and equips students for excellence in social work practice.

Union's nationally recognized faculty members prepare students for careers in counseling, child welfare, community development, mental health, advocacy and others. The Bachelor of Social Work program prepares competent and effective professionals for leadership in a variety of settings.

Union's BSW degree program is designed for adult students with responsibilities and busy schedules. You can earn a bachelor's degree in social work in as little as 24 months. Classes meet one night a week, allowing time for work and family.

Students who have less than 60 credit hours can take the First Step toward their BSW degree!

BSW Adult Studies Program - Concurrent 16 Week Classes

For financial aid, sdudents need a minimum of nine (9) hours in the fall and spring semesters and six (6) hours in the summer semester. Class times are 6:00 pm – 7:50 pm; 10 minute break; 8:00 pm – 9:50 pm. on Tuesday nights. Cohorts are offered both on the main campus in Jackson and at the Memphis Regional Education Center.
