An Inklings Weekend in Montreat

Join us in the Misty Mountains (locally known by the elves as the Smokey Mountains) at Rivendell (known locally as Montreat College) near Black Mountain, NC as we consider

Middle Earth: Living between Creation and the New Creation

Featuring music, worship, food, and good conversation plus talks by

  • Ben Mitchell Internationally recognized ethicist and author of Does God Need Our Help?: Cloning, Assisted Suicide, & Other Challenges of Bioethics and Graves Professor of Moral Theology at Union University
  • Nigel Goodwin Founder of Genesis Arts Trust, an international ministry to Christians in the Arts based in England, Goodwin has embodied the love of Christ around the world
  • Don King Author of C. S. Lewis, Poet: The Legacy of His Poetic Impulse and Out of My Bone: The Letters of Joy Davidman, King edits the Christian Scholar's Review and teaches literature at Montreat College where he formerly served as dean
  • Alysssa Klaus and Corrie Greene Oxford summer students of Don King who resided at the kilns and researched at the Bodleian on the theme of nature in Lewis's poetry and fiction
  • Hal Poe Author of C. S. Lewis Remembered and The Inklings of Oxford, Poe serves as Charles Colson Professor of Faith and Culture at Union University

Registration includes the Saturday night banquet in the Great Hall where we will enjoy an "Inklings Evening" presided over by Nigel Goodwin

Other meals may be taken in Black Mountain or at Montreat College
