
Daniel I. Block
Daniel I. Block, Ph.D., University of Liverpool, England, is Associate
Dean and occupies the John R. Sampey Professor of Old Testament
Interpretation chair at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in
Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr. Block is the author of numerous
articles in Old Testament texts and subjects. His most significant
publications include a major two-volume commentary on The Book of
Ezekiel and a commentary on Judges and Ruth. Dr. Block is currently
working on a commentary on Deuteronomy, scheduled to be published
soon, and a book on worship, For the Glory of God: A Biblical
Theology of Worship. He is an active member of the Evangelical
Theological Society, the Institute of Biblical Research, and the
Society of Biblical Literature.
Ordained to the ministry by the Baptist
General Conference, Dr. Block has served as Interim Preaching Pastor
of numerous churches–Baptist General Conference, Evangelical Covenant,
Evangelical Free, Independent, and Southern Baptist. He lectures and
preaches frequently at Bible conferences and spiritual retreats.
He and his wife are both natives of
Saskatchewan, Canada, and have two children and four grandchildren. |

Robert Smith, Jr
Robert Smith, Jr. , Ph.D., The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary,
serves as Professor of Christian Preaching at Beeson Divinity School.
Previously he served as the Carl E. Bates Associate Professor of Christian
Preaching at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville,
Kentucky.
A popular teacher and
preacher, he received Southern’s 1996 Findley B. Edge Award for Teaching
Excellence. An ordained Baptist minister, he served as pastor of the New
Mission Missionary Baptist Church for twenty years before returning to
complete his Ph.D. He is also the author of a study of Christian ministry
in the African-American church, Preparing For Christian Ministry, and
co-editor of A Mighty Long Journey. His research interests include
the place of passion in preaching, the literary history of African-
American preaching, Christological preaching, and theologies of preaching.
At Beeson, Smith teaches Christian Preaching and other electives in
homiletics.
He and his wife, Wanda, are
the parents of four adult children. |

Grant
R. Osborne
Grant R. Osborne, Ph.D., University of Aberdeen, has been a professor
of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield,
Illinois, since 1977.Osborne's areas of expertise include the
Gospels, hermeneutics, and the book of Revelation. He is a member of
the Society of Biblical Literature, the Evangelical Theological
Society, Tyndale Fellowship, and the American College of Biblical
Theologians.
Osborne pastored churches in Ohio and Illinois and is a
popular speaker at pastors’ conferences in the U.S. as well as in Hong
Kong and Korea.
Osborne's published works include The Resurrection
Narratives and The Hermeneutical Spiral: A Comprehensive Introduction
to Biblical Interpretation. He has also co-authored Handbook for Bible
Study and The Bible in the Churches. His articles have appeared in
periodicals such as Christianity Today and Evangelical Quarterly.
Osborne is editor of the IVP New Testament Commentary series and the
Life Application Bible Commentary.
Osborne, his wife, Nancy and two
children reside in Libertyville, Illinois. |

Sanders
Lane Willson
Sanders L. “Sandy” Willson, D.D. from Crichton College, is Senior Minister
of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to this
position, he served as the Senior Pastor of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian
Church and Memorial Presbyterian Church in Elizabethton, Tennessee.
Reverend Willson and his wife,
Allison are committed to the health and growth of the local church and its
leaders. For many years, they have had interest in mobilizing the local
church for home and world missions and have ministered together with
various ministries around the world. Reverend Willson has also spearheaded
church planting efforts in Memphis and in North America.
Each Sunday Reverend Willson’s
morning sermons are telecast on WREG-TV Channel 3 in Memphis at 10 a.m.
and broadcast live on AM 1210. He teaches “Amen” Bible Study, 6:30 a.m.
weekly men’s Bible study, which is open to the Memphis community.
The Willsons have five
children.
