Phi Alpha Theta Holds Annual Franco-American Confection and Bake Sale

Mar 21, 2014 -

Union’s Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society held its 10th Annual Franco-American Confection and Bake Sale on March 21, 2014. The sale started near Barefoots Joe at 8:30 a.m., shifted to the chapel foyer from 10:45 a.m. to 11:10 a.m., and had its last stop by the Lexington Inn between 11:20 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The event was highly successful, as the chapter sold most everything it had for sale. The honor society donated remaining items to a local church for use in the “Room in the Inn” program that Jackson’s Area Relief Ministries and several churches co-sponsor.

Ten student members of the Delta-Psi chapter contributed to the event by making baked goods, working the sales tables, or doing both. They were: Faith Bagley, Allen Bradley, Sarah Carroll, Allie Durham, Colton Gebben, Hannah Jones, Grace Morriss, Heather Stricklin, Gracie Wise, and Kensie Zills. Dr. Alice-Catherine Carls also prepared several items for the occasion.

Sales items included homemade French delights such as dark and white chocolate truffles, Madeleine tea cakes, and croissants. Among the other baked goods were brownies, pumpkin cream cheese muffins, cinnamon rolls, strawberry scones with lemon glaze, German chocolate cake cookies, cinnamon-roll cookies, cupcakes with peanut butter icing, dark chocolate mini cakes, and lemon squares.
