Mar 18, 2015 - Starting with two tables full of fresh baked goods and other treats, Union’s Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society held its 12th Annual Franco-American Confection and Bake Sale on March18, 2015. The sale began near Barefoots Joe in the Student Union Building, continued in the chapel foyer following the morning chapel service, and ended just outside the Lexington Inn by Union’s cafeteria. Items for sale included almond-cranberry biscotti, brownies, blueberry scones, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate truffles, cinnamon rolls, croissants, dark chocolate mini-cakes, lemon squares, lime squares, Madeleine tea cakes, pecan pie bars, and peanut butter rice crispy squares. The chapter donated food packets remaining after the sale to the Regional Inter-Faith Association (RIFA) in Jackson.
The Phi Alpha Theta student members who participated in the fundraiser were many. Among the bakers and makers of foods were Faith Bagley, Sarah Carroll, Hannah Conway, Nick Hancock, Hannah Jones, Kayla Ketner, Hollie Wilson, and Livvy Winters. Bagley, Carroll, Conway, Hancock, and Ketner also helped at the sales tables as did Allen Bradley, Stephen Lewoczko, and Emily Littleton. Finally, Dr. Alice-Catherine Carls provided a number of sale items, including all those that were French.
