Phi Alpha Theta Volunteers Work at 'Racing So They Can Ride' Event

Sep 19, 2015 - Five members of Union’s Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta served as volunteers at the “Racing So They Can Ride” 5k and 10 races on September 19, 2015. The Phi Alpha Theta workers included Dr. Henry Allen, Robert Briley, Dr. Stephen Carls, Nicholas Hancock, and Gideon Ragland. This was the fourth year that Phi Alpha Theta has helped at this charitable event. A sixth Phi Alpha Theta group member, Dr. Alice-Catherine Carls, competed in the 5k race and won first place in her age category.

Money raised from the races went to the Rein-Bow Riding Academy which uses hippotherapy to help children with various medical conditions achieve their physical therapy goals. The academy is a part of the Therapy and Learning Center which in turn is a service of the Ayers Children’s Medical Center in Jackson.
