Sep 18, 2015 - The Delta-Psi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta received word in the mail from the society’s national headquarters on September 18, 2015, that it had won another Best Chapter Award. This marks the 13th straight year that the chapter has earned this honor. Dr. Graydon Tunstall, the executive director, enclosed a letter of congratulations in the envelope, along with the 2015 Best Chapter Award certificate. He wrote that the chapter, having won the award five or more times, had earned the Nels A. Cleven distinction, and added: “You and your students have shown admirable dedication to the organization and truly exemplify the mission statement of Phi Alpha Theta.”
The chapter also received a monetary prize of $250 as a part of the award to purchase history books for Union’s Emma Waters Summar Library. Delta-Psi chapter members will choose books to buy in the weeks ahead, and there will be a check presentation ceremony at the library later in the semester.
The 2014-2015 Delta-Psi chapter leaders who contributed to the chapter’s success include: Faith Bagley, president; Hannah Jones, vice president; Sarah Carroll, secretary; Allen Bradley, senator; and Kensie Zills, senator.
