May 4, 2017 - History majors Luke Parrett and Jeff Williams, who served as teacher interns in 2016-2017, were among those honored at the spring Teacher Appreciation Tea on May 4, 2017. Their 2016-2017 internship mentors were also honored: teachers Kimberly Dilden and Patricia Hennessy of Northeast Middle School who worked with Williams, and Richard Kemper of Crockett County High School who supervised Parrett. In addition, Union University’s Dr. Ken Newman, the interns’ university coach, and Dr. Stephen Carls, representing the history department, were at the tea. History major Stephen Lewoczko, a third teacher intern in 2016-2017, was unable to attend the event; he had Cameron White of Crockett County High School as his internship mentor. Union’s Educator Preparation Program and the Union University chapter of the Student Tennessee Education Association sponsored the reception.
