Aug 25, 2017 - The history department participated in several Union University activities to launch the 2017-2018 school year. On August 15, history faculty members attended the faculty-staff back-to-school dinner that featured contemporary Christian artist Steve Green. Department chair Stephen Carls hosted seven new history majors at the New Student Dinner on August 19. The following day, the Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society took part in the Big Top Campus Life Fair with a history department display; Katherine Cheshire and Jessica Barton served as hostesses. The start-of-school events concluded on August 25, when Union held its annual fall convocation; President Samuel W. “Dub” Oliver delivered the convocation address on “Prudence.”
